Super Cute & Easy Bookmarks – Made using Letters from Magazines
Here is a cute and super easy craft that the kids loved to make! Best of all…they can be made with things you have around the house!!! Perfect for those days when the kiddos are bored and you don’t have time to run to the craft store to pick up any supplies!
Here is what you need:
- Magazines (To cut out letters)
- Scissors and/or Paper Cutter
- Construction Paper
- Laminator (if you want)
I had a cute flower serving tray my sister got me that worked perfect to separate the letters (ABC’s went together, DEF’s, GHI’s etc). I just thumbed through the magazines and cut out any letters I saw…I wanted lots of each so we didn’t run out. In the middle section of the flower I put whole words like “love”, And” that I cut out and also some hearts and punctuation marks like explanation marks, periods, dashes etc. I cut them out ahead of time that way the kiddos didn’t have to wait! It would also be a fun for the kids to find and cut out the letters themselves but I had a lot of kiddos and didn’t want to take the time and have them eventually get bored!! Organized fast crafts are what goes over well in my house…especially with lots of kids that are all different ages.
Sadly, we only had one glue stick but we made it work. I took the project outside, that way it wouldn’t mess up my house for one and secondly I could have a couple kiddos do the craft while the other ones played in the yard, then I would have the next two start etc!
After they completed their bookmarks I laminated each of them…that way they stay perfect! They turned out SO cute!!! These are just a few of the book marks we made! My son made the green one for his grandma, she is going to love it! These would make perfect gifts for Mother’s Day, Birthday’s, Father’s Day etc!! Now…go dig for all those old magazines you have laying around (you know you do)!!! J
