Back to School Breakfast

Hard to believe school is starting next week already!  Where did the summer go!? After I get my son’s 9th birthday party prep out of the way for this weekend I best be planning my kiddos back to school party!  Last year I did a back to school breakfast (literally planned the night before school started)!!  Here are a few pictures from our breakfast…the kids loved waking up to this (not the idea of going back to school) but loved the surprise!!! 🙂

Back to School Breakast

I made a quick menu on my computer and printed it on cardstock for each of the kiddos!  We had Cinnamon Toast Crunch muffins (from a box), pancakes & bacon, homemade granola & fruit kabobs!

Back to School Breakfast 1 I got the little tin buckets with the chalkboard front at Target in the $1 section…score!  I filled the one with school supplies I had sitting around!  I also used one of my folders (hence my name on the front) and cut out some lined paper and wrote back to school on it, folded over some scrapbook paper to make a silverware holder and printed off the subway art and framed it in a frame I had laying around!  Check out tons of fun Subway art here!

Back to School Breakfast 2

I wrapped mini candy bars in these adorable bus candy bar wrappers!  Click here to print yours!  I cut out a small hole in an apple to stick a gummy worm out of…I think these are too cute and the kids loved them!  For the drink (chocolate milk) I wrapped scrapbook paper around a mason jar and for the lid I took out the metal insert and replaced it with a muffin liner then screwed the ring back on and poked in a straw..too cute!

Back to School Breakfast 3

My babies going to school!!!!  My daughter was starting 3 year old preschool but not for a couple weeks…hence the pj’s and wild hair!!

Back to School Breakfast 4

Of course we had to end the day the way we started right!!!  Homemade chocolate chip cookies, rice krispey treats shaped like an apple (stem is a tootsie roll and leaf is a green gum drop, red food coloring) & granola energy balls!  We wrapped a couple apples up in plastic goodie bags with a note attached “hope you had a great 1st day of school” and handed them out to all our neighborhood friends!

Back to School Breakfast 5 That was so much fun…I best put on my thinking cap for this year (a little over a week away)!  Luckily, I did keep a few of my decorations so I am semi prepared for this year!  😎

Another wonderful idea is to use these as a birthday party snack…if you have a little princess that is having a Snow White themed birthday…how cute would these be as “Poisonous Apples”!!!  You might want to clarify with a “not so” after it! 🙂

Enjoy!
